Focus Physiotherapy is a locally owned physical therapy practice where your health is our priority. We integrate exercise and manual techniques as defined by a client’s objective limitations and dysfunction. This comprehensive approach also includes education and prevention to maximize pain relief.
Pain relief is usually the primary goal, and when achieved, daily productivity improves. This functional improvement is imperative whether you are a laborer, athlete, executive, or stay-at-home parent.
Jeff Chandler
MS, PT, Co-Owner
After earning a Bachelor of Arts degree from Rhodes College in Memphis, TN, Jeff attended the University of Central Arkansas and graduated with a Master of Science in Physical Therapy. After working in an outpatient orthopedic environment in West Knoxville for 14 years, he opened Focus Physiotherapy in 2006.Jeff’s extensive continuing education studies include multiple courses on the upper and lower extremities, as well as the spine, all with an emphasis on manual therapy as it pertains to musculoskeletal dysfunction. Jeff also provides comprehensive treatment in the sub-specialty areas of vestibular rehabilitation and lymphedema.
When not at the clinic, Jeff enjoys spending time with his wife, Amy Fay and their three sons. On the weekends he can often be found in the woods, on the lake or listening to live music.
Stephen Karp
MPT, Certified MDT, Co-Owner
A Knoxvillian, Stephen earned a B. S. in Exercise Physiology from the University of Tennessee. In 2004, he graduated from East Tennessee State University with a Masters in Physical Therapy. Stephen worked for more than a decade at Covenant Health where he was a manager at Fort Sanders Regional Hospital in Knoxville and Methodist Medical Center of Oak Ridge.
In 2015, Stephen earned his McKenzie Certification and the following year decided to join the team at Focus Physiotherapy. Although Stephen treats all orthopedic conditions, he specializes in neck pain and headaches. He is recognized as the leading provider in the greater Knoxville area for cervicogenic, vascular, and tension headaches.
Stephen enjoys spending his free time “pickin” for antiques, fishing and playing with his dog Gabi.
Millie Twiggs
Office Manager
Millie has over 20 years of office management experience in the physical therapy field. She is adept at insurance filing, billing/collections, scheduling, and training. Millie has been a part of the Focus team since day one, and her caring attitude combined with her attention to administrative details continue to play a big role in Focus’ success. When not at work, Millie enjoys quilting, yoga, her book club and grandchildren.
